By Car: From London: - Take the M4 Westward towards Wales. - Take junction 21 (onto the M48- Chepstow and services), which takes you over the old Severn Bridge. (The toll is currently 5.10 GBP per car.) - Take junction 2 immediately after crossing the bridge onto the A466 to Chepstow. - Follow the A466 until you reach Tintern. - Drive through Tintern, passing the Abbey on your right. - About half a mile (0.8 km) after the Abbey, you will find the Wye Valley Hotel on the left. From Birmingham and the north: - Take the M5 south. - At junction 8 (just past Strensham Service Area), take the M50 (towards Ross-on-Wye). - Follow the M50 onto the A40 (towards Monmouth, Newport and South Wales). - At Monmouth, turn left at the traffic lights (takes you over a bridge) onto the A466 (towards Tintern, Chepstow and Wye Valley). - Immediately after crossing the bridge, follow the A466 around a right-hand bend (keep the garage on your left). - Keep on the A466 for about 8 miles (12.9 km). - As you enter Tintern, the Wye Valley Hotel is on the right side of the road.
